I use BeyondTV (snapstream) to record TV shows. It uses Mpeg-2 files. I also have Nero and use it to rip dvd video (no. not commercial dvds. I am a video editor and make videos myself. sometimes I want to convert the video off dvd back to mpeg for my hard drive)
So two different programs that record video in mpeg-2 files.
The files play fine in windows media player, the nero player and other players. I have the K-lite mega codec pack installed so I have just about every codec available.
But when I try to play the mpeg video files with videozilla, it won't play them. It just sits there. If I try to convert the files using videozilla, I get a dialog that pops up and says:
"Specified file is not a video file or format is not supported. Please make sure the required codec has been installed!"
Well I know the right codecs are installed because other players play the video fine. and I can convert the video using other tools just fine too. but videozilla would be more convenient, not to mention I paid for it just so I could convert such files.
Any ideas? I tried this on three different computers, same thing.
I uploaded a sample video (just recorded 30 seconds or so from TV news) so if anyone wants to download it and see if they have the same problem or can figure out what the problem is.
The video is MPEG-2 at 720 x 480, 5625kbs, (I have tried other rates and same result), Audio is MPEG-1 Layer 2, 48000hz, 224kbps
video inspector says the codecs are installed too.
(Video is 33 MB. Sorry. small as I could make it)
