wmv to avi conversions

I'm in the need to convert come wmv's to avi format. I found this software on the internet and with some time was able to convert 4 files to avi format. The fifth ended up with a size of only 11 kb. I purchased a copy thinking that perhaps the trial period had been exceeded. I uninstalled the trial version and deleted the residual files, then installed the current which installed ok after 2 attempts. Trying to convert the same file ended up with a 11 kb file again. Using the command like feature resulted in the same results!

Do you folks have a solution for this problem?

Please upgrade your DIVX at http://www.divx.com . There are several issues with the DIVX 6.5. Once you have install the latest DIVX player, please try to reconvert. If the problem still persists, try to convert one video file at the time. This should solve the problem. Thank you
