Snosh installs but functionality is not there

Hello, I just installed Snosh and when I attempt to input a file, the program freezes and will not respond. I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the program but that did not fix the problem.

I am able to use the software on my laptop which has Windows XP Media Center, but my main PC is not allowing me to input a video.

I am on Windows XP Pro. My computer has more than enough memory and free space to use the software.

The video I am trying to convert is a mpg which is 106 MB. Any ideas?

Hello,

Please try to install QuickTime player from http://www.quicktime.com/ . If Snosh still fail to import your mpeg video, probably your computer is missing mpeg 2 decoder to support the conversion. You may try the following steps:

1) Download the latest FFDShow at http://www.free-codecs.com/FFDShow_download.htm
2) Unzip FFDShow and run the FFDShow setup.
3) During the setup, check "MPEG II" and select "libmpeg2" under "Decode the following video formats with ffdshow".
4) Complete the setup.
5) Import your mpeg 2 video in Snosh
6) Select "use ffdshow (just once)" from the message prompt.
