Editing Your Audio
Softdiv Dexster

Dexster is a powerful audio file-editing program that you can use to edit WAV and MP3 files. You can also use it to record audio and convert MP3s or WAV files.

Install the program as instructed and take the necessary steps to register the full version. Once this is done, launch the program and you will be shown the main screen. To record your audio, you will need a microphone or some sort of device connected to the computer that allows you to record. Make sure to specify the audio input from the control panel on the right of the screen. You should be able to see the input list for your computer under the control box. Once you are ready, click on the red circle button on the top menu bar to start recording.

If you want to edit an existing file, simply click File then Open and locate and select your audio file. This will load up and you will be able to see the wave lines below in left and right channels. Click on the green Play button to listen to the track. As this plays, you will notice a bar creeping across the page indicating where the playback is up to. You can use your mouse to skip ahead or back by clicking in this window. To edit the track, stop the music and click near the area you want to edit. This will move the play start line to that position; if you hit play the song will only start from this point. Click on this line and drag left or right to select the area of audio you want to edit.

You can delete that chunk of audio by hitting delete on your keyboard. If you want to create an effect with this selection, then either choose from the top menu or click on Filters or Operations.

If you want to simply convert an MP3 to WAV or vice versa, open the file and click File then Save as. In the save window you will see an area at the bottom where you can choose the file type. Simply choose MP3 or WAV.
